Noida: In view of Eid, authorities have imposed Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Section 163 in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district. They also issued guidelines for people for the smooth celebration of the holy festival across the district.
While Eid is expected to be celebrated on either Friday or Saturday, district officials have banned the assembly of five or more people or taking out processions without the permission of the authorities. The authorities have also banned the flying of drones within a 1 km radius of government offices.
“Assembly of 5 or more people, or the taking out of processions, without prior permission, is strictly prohibited. Flying of drones within a 1 km radius of government offices is strictly prohibited. Police permission is mandatory for drones or photography in other locations as well,” authorities said.
Use of loudspeaker strictly prohibited
While the use of loudspeakers has been strictly prohibited 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM for the next few days, the noise levels exceeding prescribed decibel limits have also been prohibited in all other areas. “Religious gatherings for Namaz, Puja, or processions are not permitted on roads or in public spaces without prior permission,” the guidelines added further.
To avoid any kind of untoward incident, the authorities have also prohibited carrying of sticks, clubs, swords, knives, tridents, firearms, or flammable material, apart from releasing stray dogs into religious sites, which is not allowed, as per the guidelines issued.
No consumption of alcohol in public
Pointing out that consumption of alcohol or intoxicants in public places is prohibited, it added that strict action will be taken against anyone behaving rudely or disrespectfully toward police, municipal, or sanitation staff on duty. “Stockpiling bricks, stones, glass bottles, or flammable materials on rooftops or in open spaces is prohibited,” it said further.
