In a big program organized in Lucknow, on completion of 9 years of Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented the report card of the functioning of his government. With the release of the book named “9 years of Nav Nirman”, he claimed that in these years the state has set new standards of security, development, employment and good governance. This program was not limited to just counting the achievements, but the government also tried to link it with the vision of the future.
UP before 2017: ‘Identity crisis’ and a period of challenges
In his address, the Chief Minister, while referring to the situation in Uttar Pradesh before 2017, said that at that time the state was struggling with many problems. According to him, law and order was weak, employment opportunities were limited and the youth were confused about their future. Farmers, artisans and small traders were also struggling. The CM also said that during that period, questions were raised on recruitment processes and complaints of corruption were common, which had created an atmosphere of despair among the youth.

What changed in 9 years? Claims from security to infrastructure
CM Yogi said that in the last 9 years the state has seen rapid changes in many areas.

- Increase in infrastructure and investment

- Emphasis on women empowerment
He said that now there is no tension during festivals and people are able to perform their religious programs without any fear.
Focus on jobs, police recruitment and modern systems
According to the government, more than 9 lakh government jobs were given in the last 9 years, including more than 2.19 lakh police recruitments. Several steps have been taken to modernize policing:
- Cyber police stations in different districts
- Expansion of Commissionerate System
- Forensic lab and use of new technology
CM also said that now a large number of policemen are being trained within the state, due to which the system has been strengthened.
Focus on women and youth, expansion of schemes
The government also stated women’s welfare and youth empowerment as its priority.
- Government jobs to more than 1.75 lakh women
- More than 1 crore women joined self-help groups
- 5 lakh marriages under Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme
- Scooty and financial assistance schemes for girl students
It was claimed to create opportunities on a large scale in the MSME sector to promote employment and self-employment for the youth.
9 lakh crore budget and future vision
The government has presented a budget of about Rs 9 lakh crore for the coming financial year. According to the Chief Minister, this budget will focus on the overall development of the state, strengthening infrastructure and increasing employment. Also, through special programs lasting 9 days, the government is preparing to convey its achievements to the public and communicate on further plans.
Achievements, claims and challenges ahead
The government has presented a detailed blueprint of its work through the “9 Years of Nav Nirman” programme.
