UP Clean Air Program: Big agreement with the World Bank to reduce air pollution in Uttar Pradesh, Clean Air Program will be started with the help of about 300 million dollars. This will promote clean air, electric vehicles and environment-friendly development.
Amid increasing pollution in Uttar Pradesh, a big step has now been taken regarding clean air. An important agreement has been signed between the State Government, Government of India and the World Bank, whose direct impact will be visible on the lives of people in the coming years. The aim of this initiative is not only to reduce pollution but also to create a balance between development and environment.
Under this agreement signed in New Delhi, financial assistance of about $ 299.66 million (about $ 300 million) will be given to Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Program. The focus of this program will be on those sectors which cause the most pollution, such as transport, agriculture and industry.
The impact of this program will not be limited to Uttar Pradesh only, but the surrounding states will also benefit from it.
Who signed?
On this agreement, on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Government, B. Chandrakala, signed by Juhi Mukherjee on behalf of the Government of India and Paul Prossie on behalf of the World Bank. This step has been taken under the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which equal importance is being given to environment along with development.

What is going to change with this plan?
This program will not be limited to papers only, but preparations are being made to bring many big changes on the ground:
- Nearly 3.9 million households have access to clean cooking facilities
- More than 700 brick kilns have been converted to new and less polluting technology.
- Investment will increase in electric buses and three-wheelers
- New technology to monitor emissions in industries
- Incentive to farmers to use better and less harmful fertilizers
Private investment will also get a boost
According to the World Bank, this scheme is also expected to bring private investment of about 150 million dollars in the transport and MSME sector. This will increase both employment and production.
Why is this agreement important?
Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving towards economic development and the government aims to make it a 1 trillion dollar economy. In such a situation, just increasing industry is not enough, but clean air and healthy life are also equally important.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath believes that real development is where people get clean air and a better life along with GDP.
10 year long plan
This program is of approximately 10 years duration and is part of the larger scale Indo-Ganga Regional Air Quality Management Project. This means that this is not a small step, but a big investment made under a long plan.
This initiative regarding clean air in Uttar Pradesh can bring a big change in the coming times. If this scheme is implemented properly, the health of millions of people will improve and the state can become a new example in terms of environment.
