Patna: Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is now just a short distance away. In such a situation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is seen in full action in the election year, today took a big step under the Social Security Pension Scheme. In a program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, he transferred an amount of Rs 1263 crore 95 lakh in bank accounts of one crore 13 lakh beneficiaries through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with both Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Social Welfare Department Madan Sahni was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that his government has always stood with poor, old, widow, disabled and needy people. This scheme is being implemented more widely in the election year so that every section of the society is assisted.
The Chief Minister’s government had earlier increased the social security pension from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, which gave relief to millions of people. Today, the schemes whose pension amount was transferred to the beneficiaries included Mukhyamantri Old Pension Scheme, Laxmi Bai Social Security Pension Scheme, Bihar Niskta Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Indira Gandhi National Divyang Pension Scheme.
The beneficiaries under all these schemes got this amount today. A video of the program has also been released in which Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is seen transferring funds to the account of the beneficiaries. Political people believe that this step is an attempt to create an atmosphere in favor of the government before the elections. At the same time, the opposition is calling it an election strategy. But this is considered a big opportunity for the poor and the needy.
