Tamil Nadu weather: Delta districts, southern regions to receive showers till March 23

Chennai: The Chennai Meteorological Centre has released a forecast predicting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across various parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the coming days, along with a gradual dip in maximum temperatures.

According to the report, an atmospheric lower-level circulation prevailing over the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu is expected to bring wet weather to several regions. Today, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in a few places across Tamil Nadu, as well as in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions.

Tomorrow, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in one or two places within the Delta districts and their adjoining districts, as well as in the Karaikal region, while dry weather will prevail across the rest of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

On March 20, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in one or two places within the Delta districts and Southern Tamil Nadu, as well as in the Karaikal region. Dry weather is expected across the rest of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

March 21 will see light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two places within the districts along the Western Ghats and Southern Tamil Nadu, with dry conditions elsewhere in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Karaikal region.

On March 22, light rain is likely in one or two places within the districts along the Western Ghats and the coastal districts of Southern Tamil Nadu, while dry weather prevails across the rest of the region. March 23 will bring light rain to one or two places within the coastal districts of Southern Tamil Nadu, with dry conditions elsewhere.

Temperature Outlook

Regarding maximum temperatures, the Meteorological Centre has indicated a low probability of any significant change today and tomorrow across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. However, from March 19 to March 21, maximum temperatures in these regions are likely to decrease gradually by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in a few isolated places.
