Will NSE IPO break the record? Preparation to create a stir in the share market

NSE IPO is preparing to create a stir in the stock market soon. After listing, NSE Ltd can be included in the top 15 largest companies of the country. Which has selected 20 merchant bankers for its upcoming IPO. According to media reports, existing shareholders of the country’s largest stock exchange can sell about 4.5-5% stake through OFS (Offer for Sale), making this issue one of the biggest IPOs on Dalal Street. Currently its value in the unlisted market is being estimated at around Rs 5 lakh crore.

At present, the market value of the top 15 companies of the country ranges from Rs 3.77 lakh crore to Rs 18.87 lakh crore. This includes companies like Mahindra & Mahindra to Reliance Industries. After the recent decline, this limit has come down from earlier Rs 4.4 lakh crore.
According to an analyst, according to the current unlisted price, the market value of NSE could be around Rs 4.7 to 5 lakh crore. This will bring it very close to the top 10 companies of the country, although its exact rank will be decided by the price on the day of listing.

NSE may join big companies

A report also said that NSE may ask for a value of Rs 6 to 7 lakh crore, which is about 40% more than the current unlisted price. If this happens, then NSE can be included in the top 10 largest companies. After getting the NOC and clearing the IPO timeline, the price of NSE’s unlisted shares had once reached Rs 2,150. At present, retail deals were happening between Rs 1,900-1,925 and the demand from investors remained strong.

The world’s third largest equity exchange

In 2025, NSE was the world’s third largest equity exchange by number of trades. It was the largest exchange in the derivatives segment, where its share was 50.6%. Analysts believe that NSE’s IPO could be one of the biggest IPOs ever. Earlier, Hyundai Motor India had raised Rs 27,858 crore in 2024, LIC had raised Rs 20,557 crore in 2022 and Paytm’s company One97 had raised Rs 18,300 crore in 2021.
