Singhst 2028: Keeping the Simhastha fair in mind, development works have started on a large scale in Ujjain. The city has been blessed with many important projects at a cost of more than Rs 664 crore. Ahead of Chaitra Navratri and Gudi Padwa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 8 lane super express highway from Badnawar to Ujjain. Apart from this, a new highway passing through Dewas-Indore and going directly to Garoth has also been prepared, which will make the journey to Delhi easier. At the same time, a big national highway to be built at a cost of Rs 3839 crore will go from Dwarka in Gujarat to the China border in Assam. This highway will directly connect Somnath and Mahakal Temple of Ujjain. This project has received the approval of the Union Cabinet. While inaugurating these development works in Ujjain, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the country is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh is also an active participant in this development journey.
Simhastha 2028: New provisions of Rs 3600 crore and work going on at a fast pace
The Chief Minister said that work worth more than Rs 13.50 crore is already going on in Ujjain for the preparations for Simhastha. Apart from this, a provision for new development works worth Rs 3600 crore has been made for the year 2026-27. He said that by the grace of Lord Mangalnath, many projects worth about Rs 664 crore have been started in auspicious times. These include works like construction of new roads, Vikram Railway Overbridge (ROB), road widening and CC road construction. Along with this, Bhoomi Pujan has also been done to build a grand Geeta Bhawan in Ujjain at a cost of Rs 77 crore. The pace of development is continuing in the state and work is being done on the concept of Geeta Bhawan in urban areas, Adarsh Gram and Vrindavan Gram in villages.
Farmers Welfare Year 2026: To increase income and improve milk production
The Chief Minister said that the year 2026 is being celebrated as Farmer Welfare Year. Animal husbandry is being promoted to increase the income of farmers. Due to the efforts of the Animal Husbandry Department, milk production has increased by about 25 percent in the last one and a half year. Due to this, farmers are getting additional profit of Rs 5 to 8 per liter. Many reforms have also been made in the education sector. Necessary changes have been made in Sandipani Vidyalaya, PM Excellence College and University. Students are being given cycles, uniforms and books free of cost. Scooties are being given to topper students and laptops are being given to meritorious students. Now children will also get free milk in schools, for which ‘Mata Yashoda Yojana’ has been started.
Promotion of cultural development: Grand Geeta Bhawan to be built in Ujjain
On this occasion, Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the beginning of development works worth crores including Geeta Bhawan in Ujjain is a sign of cultural renaissance. He told that after Indore and Jabalpur, now a grand Geeta Bhawan will be built in Ujjain also. This building will work to connect youth, researchers and common people with Indian culture, philosophy and knowledge tradition. He said that this initiative will strengthen the values and Indian values in the society and will be helpful in carrying forward the cultural heritage.
