Customs caught ganja worth Rs 39.37 lakh hidden in a photo frame at Bengaluru airport. In another incident, a husband killed his wife due to a family dispute. The accused have been arrested in both the cases.
Bengaluru: Customs officials have taken a major action at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Officials have seized a consignment of hydro ganja worth Rs 39.37 lakh which was being brought from abroad hidden in photo frames. This incident happened on Saturday. Customs officials had received intelligence about smuggling of ganja from Bangkok. Based on this information, passengers coming from Bangkok were being closely monitored.
On Saturday, a passenger coming from Bangkok was suspected. The officers stopped him, interrogated him and searched his belongings. A photo frame was found in his bag. When the frame was broken, the ganja hidden inside it was recovered. The Customs Department said that the accused passenger has been arrested and the matter is being investigated.
Wife’s throat slit with vegetable cutting knife
There is another heartbreaking news from Bengaluru itself. Here, after a family feud, a husband brutally murdered his own wife. The accused worked as a security guard in a private company. Mico Layout police station has arrested him.
According to the police, the name of the deceased woman is Rangavava and she was a resident of Bilekahalli. Her husband Nagraj has been arrested on charges of murder. It is being told that there was a fight between the husband and wife on Sunday night over some family matter. In anger, accused Nagraj slit his wife’s throat with a vegetable cutting knife and fled from the spot. However, the police found and arrested him within a few hours.
Police sources said that Nagaraj is originally a resident of Jagalur taluk of Davangere district. He came to Bengaluru with his family several years ago in search of work. Here he worked as a security guard, while his son worked in catering. Nagraj had a habit of coming home drunk every day and quarreling with his wife over small matters. Even on Sunday night, he started a fight with his wife under the influence of alcohol. The situation escalated to such an extent that he got angry and killed his wife.
