Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (KYC) has been made mandatory for LPG cylinder users from March 15. Subsidies and services will not be available if KYC is not completed. This process can be completed from home using the gas company’s app and FaceRD app.
New Delhi: Due to the ongoing tension between America, Israel and Iran, the supply of cooking gas in the country is being affected. Meanwhile, the central government has made biometric Aadhaar authentication or KYC mandatory for LPG cylinder users from March 15.
The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has said that after this, only those customers will get LPG services and subsidy, whose KYC is complete. The Ministry has informed the customers that this KYC process can be easily completed from home through the app of the concerned gas distribution company. For this, Aadhar card and FaceRD app will have to be used.
This new rule of the Center will be applicable to the customers of the country’s major government oil companies – Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
Complete the KYC process like this
- 1. Scan the QR code given in the government notice or complete the KYC process through the official link https://www.pmuy.gov.in/e&kyc.html.
- 2. Next, download the mobile app of your oil supply company (IOCL, BPCL or HPCL) along with the Aadhaar FaceRD app.
- 3. Follow the instructions given in the company’s app and scan your face using the Aadhaar FaceRD app. This will complete your biometric authentication.
