This horrific incident happened in front of his children. The police have registered a case against the accused and started investigation.
Sambhal UP Murder Case: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a man murdered his wife with scissors in front of his children late on Sunday night. Police say that this attack happened after a big fight over divorce. The accused has been identified as Nafees, who runs a medical store in the area. According to the police, he was pressurizing his wife Najma for divorce so that he could marry his aunt. Najma was strongly opposing this, due to which there were constant fights between the husband and wife.
The debate turned into a bloody game
According to India Today report, the incident took place at Najma’s rented house in Mandi Kishan Das Sarai area. On Sunday night, Nafees reached the house where Najma was living with her children. As soon as he arrived, an argument started between the two. Police said the fight soon turned serious. Suddenly, in anger, Nafees allegedly attacked Najma with scissors. This horrific attack happened in front of his children, who saw all this with their own eyes. Najma suffered serious injuries in the attack.

Neighbors ran after hearing the screams
After attacking his wife, Nafees allegedly tried to harm himself with the same scissors. Neighbors reached the spot after hearing noise and screams from the house. He stopped Nafees from committing suicide and immediately informed the police. Both Najma and Nafees were taken to Sambhal district hospital for treatment. However, Najma could not be saved due to serious injuries sustained in the attack.

Police said that the couple had been married for about 15 years. He has four children. For the last few years, he was living in Sarayatrin town of Hayatnagar police station area.
However, for some time, Najma had left the family home and was living separately in a rented house with her children. According to the police and those who know the couple, there was a rift between them for about two years.
There was a dispute regarding relationship with aunt
Investigators said the dispute started when Najma found out that Nafees was in a relationship with her aunt. Nafees wanted to marry her and was seeking divorce from Najma. Najma was not ready for divorce and wanted to stay with her husband and raise the children. A colleague of Najma told that she wanted to save her marriage, but Nafees was adamant on ending the relationship to marry his aunt. The colleague also said that Nafees did not like Najma working as an Asha worker.
Police started investigation
As soon as information about this crime was received, the police reached the spot. Officials have recovered the scissors used in the attack as evidence. A case of murder has been registered against Nafees on the complaint of Najma’s brother Aqeel. The investigators are now interrogating several people, including the maternal aunt whose name has come up in this controversy. Senior police officials have confirmed that the postmortem of the victim has been completed.
Police said that the investigation is ongoing and further legal action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge. The officials also said that they are recording statements of neighbours, family members and other witnesses to understand what exactly happened that night. The tragic incident has shocked the residents of the area, especially because the crime took place in front of the couple’s children.
