To increase the income of farmers in Madhya Pradesh, agricultural equipment shops will be opened in every assembly constituency, where small farmers will get equipment on rent. MLAs will organize agricultural conferences in their areas. The government is implementing many new schemes under the Farmer Welfare Year 2026.
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh government has made many new announcements in the interest of farmers. March 16 was a special day for the farmers of the state, because now shops of agricultural equipment will be opened in every assembly constituency. Through these shops, agricultural equipment will be made available on rent to small and marginal farmers for farming. Along with this, all the MLAs of the state will also organize agricultural conferences in their respective areas.
Agricultural conferences will be held in every assembly constituency
The state government has decided that about 4 to 5 agricultural conferences will be organized in each assembly constituency. For organizing these conferences, an amount of Rs 5 lakh will be given to each assembly constituency by the Agriculture Department. The aim of this initiative is to provide information to farmers about new technologies, schemes and innovations related to farming.
Orientation program organized in Bhopal
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in an orientation program organized at Kushabhau Thackeray International Auditorium in the capital Bhopal on Monday. The main objective of this program is to ensure active participation of all departments and institutions during the Farmer Welfare Year 2026.
Fast implementation of farmer welfare schemes in the year 2026
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that during the farmer welfare year 2026, all departments should together implement agricultural development and farmer welfare schemes on the ground. He said that there is a need to speed up the implementation of all the schemes to increase the income of farmers. The government aims that the benefits of these schemes should reach the farmers as well as their families.
Electricity connection to farmers at Rs 5
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country which is providing electricity connections to farmers for just Rs 5. He said that this initiative shows the commitment and support of the state government towards the farmers.
Special emphasis on milk production and animal husbandry
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there are huge possibilities in the field of milk production and animal husbandry in the state and the government is making continuous efforts to realize them. The state government has set a target of increasing milk production from 9 percent to 20 percent. He said that in the last one and a half year, milk collection in the state has increased by about 25 percent and now about 12.50 lakh liters of milk is being collected in the state. Also, the price of milk has been increased by Rs 5 per liter, which will directly benefit the milk producers.
Plan to make cowsheds self-reliant
The government has also taken several steps to make cow shelters self-reliant. Tractor-trolleys and chaff making machines are being made available for weeding management and fodder arrangement. Apart from this, an initiative has also been taken to distribute free milk to school children under Mata Yashoda Scheme.
Tourism and small scale industries are also getting a boost
The Chief Minister said that the field of religious tourism is also developing rapidly. The Tourism Department has launched the Home Stay Scheme, in which income up to Rs 20 lakh has been exempted from GST for home stay operators. Apart from this, farmers are earning additional income through honey production in small and cottage industries.
Expansion of irrigation and health infrastructure
The state government is working on the target of increasing the area under irrigation in the state to 100 lakh hectares. Along with this, new medical colleges are also being opened in the state, so that health services can be strengthened.
Positive environment will be created for agricultural welfare
The Chief Minister said that by opening shops of agricultural equipment in every assembly constituency, small farmers will be able to get equipment on rent, which will make their farming easier. Agricultural conferences organized by MLAs will help in connecting farmers with new schemes and technologies. He appealed to the farmers to take advantage of the schemes related to power generation from solar energy and also promote small-cottage industries.
