New Delhi: The BMW M 1000 R has officially launched in India. BMW Motorrad had earlier teased the motorcycle and confirmed that it would arrive on March 16. The teaser video briefly showed the bike’s aggressive naked streetfighter design and highlighted some of its performance-focused elements.
The M 1000 R is already available in international markets and sits at the top of the brand’s naked roadster line-up. It is built on the same supersport platform as the BMW M 1000 RR, but it has been tuned to suit road riding while still offering strong track performance. The new M 1000 R is priced at Rs 33,50,000 (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to begin from May 2026.

The 2026 M 1000 R continues to use a 999cc inline-four engine that is both water- and oil-cooled. The motor produces 205 hp at 13,750 rpm. BMW says the engine has been tuned to offer stronger mid-range torque from around 10,000 rpm, which should help improve acceleration during fast riding.
According to the company, the motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. The engine also uses BMW’s ShiftCam technology, which adjusts valve timing to balance performance and efficiency. The bike also comes with a titanium exhaust and several M-specific components.
