Odisha: 10 killed, several injured in major fire at Cuttack’s SCB Medical College Hospital

New Delhi: At least 10 patients have been killed and 11 hospital staff were injured in a major fire at a hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack. The fire broke out at the ICU of the SCB Medical College and Hospital, in Cuttack on Monday morning.

Several staff members were also injured in the fire. According to Odisha CM Mohan Charan Manjhi, they suffered injuries while trying to rescue the patients from the hospital.

Fire engines rush to spot, rescue on

According to reports several fire engines have rushed to the hospital. They are carrying out rescue operations there. Meanwhile, CM Mohan Charan Manjhi has also left for the hospital and is expected to meet the family members of the deceased patients and also those injured in the tragic incident.

Reports in Hindustan Times said that 5 of those injured are in a critical condition. The patients who died in the fire were all admitted to the hospital’s ICU.
