Amid the election atmosphere in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced an increase of Rs 500 in the honorarium of muezzins and priests. Now they will get Rs 2000 every month and new applications will also be approved. Also, it has been decided to give the outstanding dearness allowance to the state employees, teachers, pensioners and non-teaching staff from March 2026.
