She told that the dream of Olympic medal was the biggest goal of her life, but when it came to her child, she took a break from sports and gave priority to motherhood. During a conversation with host Rajeev Khandelwal on the TV show ‘Tum Ho Na – Ghar Ki Superstar’, Kavita shared her inspiring story of struggle, family support and comeback to the game.
Started wrestling journey at the age of 22
Kavita Devi told that she grew up in such an environment in Haryana, where women did not get the freedom to freely fulfill their dreams. She said that in her childhood she never thought that one day she would represent India.
He revealed that he started wrestling at the age of 22. According to her, if she had got the right guidance earlier, perhaps she could have achieved success sooner. She said that courage and effort are more important than age, so if she had got a chance, she would have fought for her dreams at any age.

Life changed due to struggle of parents and support of husband
Recalling the struggle of her farmer parents, Kavita emotionally said that despite financial challenges, they never let her diet or training go down. He said that the sacrifice of his parents became his greatest strength.
During the conversation, Kavita also gave a special message for women. She said that women are not weak, all they need is an opportunity, right guidance and family support. This faith kept giving him the strength to stand up again after every difficulty.
‘Mamata won, but did not give up her dream’
When Rajiv Khandelwal asked her about staying away from sports after becoming a mother, Kavita gave an emotional answer. She said that in the journey towards the dream for which she had fought against society and circumstances, when it came to her child, she gave priority to motherhood.
However, she also said that her husband understood her silence and motivated her to start practicing again. With their help he met The Great Khali, after which he started his sports career again.
