A tech professional has shared his inspiring story on the online community Telugujournals. He told how in just 4 years his salary increased from Rs 3.5 lakh per annum to Rs 65 lakh per annum. He said that all this was possible due to continuous hard work, proper planning and not giving up. He says that difficult times do not last forever and with continuous hard work one can suddenly get good opportunities.
Simple start to career in 2021
He told that in 2021 he completed his studies from a small private engineering college. After this, I got a job in a multinational company through campus placement. The interesting thing was that he had not even made any special preparation for this job, yet he got selected. In the initial months of his job, he was not focused much on work. He himself admitted that at that time he was not serious at work and spent more time watching movies and animated shows.
Life taught me a lesson
After some time he realized his responsibilities. His family was lower middle class and there was often shortage of money in the house. Many times there was a shortfall of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 every month. It was difficult to meet studies and daily expenses. Then he realized that it would not be possible to meet his family’s debts and expenses with his monthly salary of around Rs 26,000. Since he was working in the technology sector and was confident in his logic and mathematics, he decided to improve himself further.
Career grew gradually
In 2022, he joined another multinational company, where he got an annual package of Rs 8 lakh. Instead of chasing small salary increases every now and then, he adopted a long-term strategy. His plan was that after gaining good experience for 3 years, he would try for a job in big product companies. For this reason, he also rejected some offers to increase his salary by 3040%.
His salary increased by about 45% in 2023. There was a lot of work pressure, but he was happy that the family was slowly repaying the loan. There was again an increase of about 28% in 2024. However, when the company asked him to return to its Bengaluru office, he decided to look for another job.
finally achieved a big milestone
In the middle of 2024, he joined a new company, where he got an annual package of Rs 19 lakh. For the first time his monthly earnings exceeded Rs 1 lakh. After this, he started preparing vigorously to get a job in big tech companies. He practiced coding, studied system design and sometimes even spent weekends studying. Initially he failed in some interviews, but he did not give up.
Eventually he started getting offers from big companies like ServiceNow, PayPal and Cisco. Finally he got a job in a big product company with an annual package of Rs 65 lakh. Now his monthly earning is more than Rs 4 lakh. He said that no one in his family had ever earned so much before, so this moment is very special for him.
