‘Bumrah is also being beaten’… Absurd statement of Pakistani selector, said a bowler like Usman Tariq

Whatever may be the condition of Pakistan cricket, its former players, selectors, coaches or officials are always engaged in controversial matters. His statements continue especially regarding the Indian team and Indian players. Even after being out of the Super-8 in the T20 World Cup 2026 and once again losing to India, the series of absurd talks in Pakistan is not stopping. Now Pakistan’s selector Aaqib Javed, while defending his bowlers, said that star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has also started getting hit.

Aaqib Javed, who was the coach of the Pakistani team till a few months ago, was asked during a press conference about the condition of the fast bowlers. During the T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s most important fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was badly beaten, while pacers like Salman Mirza and Naseem Shah also could not do anything amazing. In such a situation, when a question was raised about the condition of fast bowlers in Pakistan cricket, Aaqib Javed started defending him by taking the name of Indian pacer Bumrah.

Aaqib Javed admitted that deadly bowlers like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis are no longer coming to Pakistan. But further he said that whoever the bowlers are, they are almost like Jasprit Bumrah and they are also getting beaten. The Pakistani selector said, “Jasprit Bumrah was the only different bowler in the T20 World Cup and now he too is being beaten.”

Not only this, Aaqib Javed further said that due to his different action, Bumrah is also like spinner Usman Tariq. According to Javed, “He is different, his action is not like that of normal bowlers. I say that he is Usman Tariq of fast bowling. As fast as he bowls, his action is not that much, there is no flow for the batsman.”

Aaqib Javed gave the statement but perhaps he forgot Bumrah’s performance in this World Cup. The Indian pacer was the most successful bowler of this tournament, where he took 14 wickets in 9 matches. But not only the wickets, but also his economy rate was tremendous. Bumrah bowled 28 overs in the entire tournament and spent runs at an economy rate of only 6.21, which was better than any bowler who bowled so many matches and so many overs.
