As the countdown to the film begins, new details about the Aditya Dhar directorial have surfaced after the movie’s certification by the Irish Censor Board. The Ranveer Singh-starrer is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on March 19, with special preview shows scheduled a day earlier on March 18. As excitement builds among fans, the film’s censor certificate and key details regarding its runtime and content are out now.
Dhurandhar 2’s Irish Censor Board certification details revealed
According to the certification issued by the Irish Censor Board, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been granted an 18 rating, it implies that the film is restricted to adult audiences. The movie is expected to have brutal action sequences, strong violence, explicit language and brief scenes of mild nudity. The certification aligns with the tone established in the first film, Dhurandhar, which had also received an ‘A’ certificate upon its release on December 5 last year.
Dhurandhar 2’s run-time
Of late, there had been speculation online about Dhurandhar 2’s run time in theatres. Now, the censor certificate has confirmed that Dhurandhar: The Revenge will have a runtime of approximately 235 minutes. This makes the film nearly four hours long, placing it among the lengthiest mainstream commercial releases in recent times. It’s interesting to note that the sequel is nearly 30 minutes longer than its predecessor, Dhurandhar, which ran for about 214 minutes.
The film, which was directed by Aditya Dhar, carries on the suspenseful storyline that was first presented in the franchise’s first entry. The first Dhurandhar was a huge box office hit and went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie ever. The movie did well in foreign markets as well, making it a worldwide blockbuster, so its success was not just in India.

As wreaked havoc and shattered many records at the box office, Dhurandhar 2 is also expect to follow the suit.Even before the film’s grand release, early estimates suggest that the Aditya Dhar directorial is already gaining significant numbers at the box office. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has already made about Rs 31.9 crore gross from advance ticket sales alone throughout India, according to advance booking reports.
Dhurandhar 2 is also expected to perform well in overseas markets. Intiial reports indicate that it could earn around USD 4.05 million during its opening weekend at the North American box office. If the estimates hold true, the sequel could be off to a strong start globally as well.
