Mumbai: Actress Madhu Malhotra passed away at the age of 72 on March 13. The actress has worked in movies such as Satte Pe Satta, Rishta Kagaz Ka, Karz, Hero, Vishwanath, and Qayamat. She is also known for lending her voice to ‘Lambi Judaai’ from Subhash Ghai’s film Hero. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai paid tributes to the actress. He remembered her as a ‘gentle’ woman.
Speaking of why he cast her in the Lambi Judaai song, he said, “Since it was a folk song sung by Reshma, a singer from Pakistan, I needed a northern face with sparkling eyes on screen. And the song became immortal. I bless her soul to rest in peace.”
