Maaz Sadaqat’s all-round show helps Pakistan hammer Bangladesh in 2nd ODI to level series

New Delhi: Maaz Sadaqat produced an all-round show to help Pakistan thrash Bangladesh by 128 runs in the 2nd ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka to level the series 1-1. Sadaqat slammed a brilliant knock of 75 runs off 46 balls to help Pakistan post 274 runs on the board after being asked to bat first.

He picked up a three-wicket haul during Bangladesh’s chase to help Pakistan bundle out the hosts for a paltry 114 and secure a thumping victory. Pakistan gave Bangladesh a taste of their own medicine as they bounced back strongly after an 8-wicket thrashing in the series opener, where they were bundled out for a paltry 114 runs at the same venue.

On Friday, openers Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan got Pakistan off to a strong start after Bangladesh won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first. While Sadaqat top-scored with a sublime 75 off 46 balls, Farhan scored 31 off 46 deliveries as the duo added 103 runs for the first wicket. After the big opening stand, Pakistan lost a few quick wickets before Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan brought them back on track.

Rizwan scored a 59-ball 44, while Agha notched up a valuable knock of 64 runs off 62 balls as the duo added 109 runs for the fourth wicket. The partnership ended after Agha was run out controversially by Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz on the non-striker’s end.

The likes of Hussain Talat (9), Abdul Samad (11) and Faheem Ashraf ( 14) failed to contribute much as Bangladesh bowlers made a late comeback to restrict Pakistan to 274/10 in 47.3 overs. Skipper Miraz and Rishad Hossain were the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh with five wickets between them.
