These meetings were part of the Minister’s visit to Finland and reflected the shared commitment of India and Finland to deepen cooperation in advanced manufacturing, digital technology, innovation, sustainable infrastructure and research. “Piyush Goyal has held several meetings with leading technology and industrial companies of Finland. These interactions are part of successful and broader engagements that underline the strong momentum in India-Finland relations,” the ministry said in an official statement.

Discussion on 5G and 6G technology with Nokia

Goyal held discussions with the senior leadership of Nokia Corporation, where both sides focused on strengthening collaboration in next generation telecommunications, 5G and 6G technologies, digital infrastructure, electronics manufacturing, research and development, and innovation partnerships. The discussions also highlighted Nokia’s long-standing presence in India’s telecom ecosystem and explored opportunities to expand collaboration in emerging digital technologies.

Collaboration on Innovation with VTT Research Center

The Minister also visited the VTT Technical Research Centre, one of the leading applied research institutes in Europe. The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in research, innovation, clean technology, industrial transformation, advanced materials, digitalization and sustainable development. Both sides also explored opportunities to strengthen research partnerships and facilitate technology transfer between Indian and Finnish institutions.

Talk on smart infrastructure with KONE Corporation

During his meeting with the Chairman and senior leadership of KONE Corporation, Goyal discussed expanding cooperation in smart urban infrastructure, elevator and escalator technology, sustainable construction solutions, advanced manufacturing and localization. The discussions also explored opportunities to leverage India’s rapidly growing infrastructure sector and manufacturing ecosystem.

Discussion on Manufacturing Innovation with Kempi Group

In another meeting, Goyal interacted with the owners and senior leadership of Kempi Group. The discussions included advanced industrial machinery, welding technology, manufacturing innovation, clean industrial solutions and investment opportunities in India’s growing manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Both sides also explored possibilities of cooperation in emerging areas including EV charging infrastructure and industrial technology.
