300 kg rotten meat recovered
Hyderabad Police has busted a big racket supplying poisonous substances to hotels and catering businesses in the city. In this major operation, more than one tonne of ginger-garlic paste made with chemicals like acetic acid and 300 kg of rotten meat have been seized.
Where did the raids take place?
A factory was raided in Mallepally area of the city, where dangerous chemicals were being mixed in ginger-garlic paste. To earn more profits, the accused were preparing the paste using acetic acid, synthetic colors and gum powder. This paste was stored in extremely dirty places, amidst dust and flies and then supplied to hotels across the city. Police have seized about 1,090 kg of fake paste from this factory.
At the same time, in another raid, the police caught about 300 kg of rotten sheep and goat meat, which was not fit for eating at all. These people used to bring rotten meat from other states at low prices and kept it immersed in chemical water to hide its smell. Later this old meat was sold to people as ‘fresh’. The authorities have destroyed all this meat. Police have warned people to be cautious while buying food from hotels or markets.
