IPL 2026: When will the schedule of the remaining matches of IPL come? BCCI gave update

After many days of impatience, restlessness and waiting, the schedule of IPL 2026 season has finally come out. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule of the first 20 matches of the tournament on March 11. The tournament will start from March 28 and will continue till May 31 but at present only the schedule of 16 days has been revealed. Many fans are surprised by this announcement of BCCI and are questioning why this has been done and when will the dates of the remaining matches be known. An update has come from BCCI regarding this. Vice President of the Board, Rajeev Shukla has said that as soon as the date of assembly elections is announced, the remaining schedule will also be released.

The tournament will begin from March 28 with the match between current champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After this, the matches will continue till April 12, in which each team will have played about 3 or 4 matches. But the schedule of further matches has not been released yet due to the assembly elections. This year, elections are to be held in states like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam and IPL matches are to be played in these three only.

Keeping in mind that there should not be any problem in the security arrangements due to the assembly elections and proper coordination can be done, the board has not released the further program at present. Talking about this, Rajeev Shukla said, “IPL 2026 will take place as per its schedule. We have released the schedule for the first 20 matches. The schedule for the remaining matches will also be released soon, once the Election Commission releases the dates for the states going for elections.”
