Due to assembly elections in five states of the country, the date of the opening match of IPL 2026 has been postponed by two days. Earlier the tournament was to start from March 26, but now it will start from March 28. There are four big stadiums in the election states where IPL matches are to be played:

The schedule has been changed in view of the election activities in these stadiums.

Information regarding the sale of IPL 2026 tickets has also come to light. According to online ticketing platform BookMyShow, tickets for the matches to be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will be available for sale from March 26. However, the dates for the sale of tickets for the remaining stadiums have not been announced yet.
IPL 2026 Ticket Price: Expected price of tickets
At present, the official prices of IPL 2026 tickets have not been announced. But the prices are being estimated on the basis of last season. Possible ticket prices could be as follows:
- Initial ticket: around Rs 450 to Rs 850
- Mid-range ticket: Around Rs 900 to Rs 3000
- Premium seats: Around Rs 4000 to Rs 18,000
- VIP Ticket: Rs 19,000 or more
- Final prices may vary depending on stadium, match and seat category.
IPL Entry Rules for Kids: Is entry free for children?

- Separate tickets will be required for children aged 2 years and above.
