New Delhi: Pakistan suffered a big humiliation at the hands of Bangladesh after suffering an embarrassing 8-wicket defeat in the first ODI match in Dhaka on Wednesday. Batting first, the Pakistan batters lacked fire as they were bundled out for a paltry score of 114 in just the 31st over and Bangladesh replied by chasing the score in just the 16th over to lead the three-match series 1-0.
It was perhaps the worst thrashing Pakistan received against the Bangladesh side in the 50-over format with their last win against the Men in Green coming at the 2018 Asia Cup continental tournament. Meanwhile, Nahid Rana emerged as a star for the Bangladesh side with a fifer, ripping out the Pakistan batters with a lethal spell.

Nahid Rana emerges as star for Bangladesh
The opening partnership of 41 runs between Sahibzada Farhan (27) and Maaz Sadaqat (18) was broken by Nahid, with Farhan being his first scalp. Apart from his brilliant five-wicket haul, skipper Mehidy Hasan Mirza claimed three wickets with Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed claiming one wicket apiece.
It was some late striking by Faheen Ashraf (37) that helped the depleted side cross the 100-run mark. As far as the chase was concerned, Tanzid Hasan Tamim raced away to 67 runs off just 42 balls while Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 27 runs to complete the easy chase. Mohammad Wasim Jr and Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed one wicket apiece.
