Mumbai: Actress Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya were granted a divorce through mutual consent by the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. Motwani, who approached the court through advocate Adnan Shaikh, made no claims for alimony.
During the court proceedings, the actress revealed that they lived together for a while after their marriage. However, due to significant differences, they had frequent disagreements. As they began arguing over minor things, the duo found it difficult to live under the same roof. Eventually, they decided to part ways. It was also disclosed that the couple’s friends and family made efforts to reunite them. However, the couple could not find a common ground and started staying separately. The two have been staying apart since July 2024.

“The divorce was granted by mutual consent after both parties acknowledged that the marriage had irretrievably broken down. Our client had initially approached her now former husband seeking an amicable separation, which ultimately culminated in the present decree. The respondent filed his affidavit before the Court today, confirming his consent to the dissolution of the marriage,” said Motwani’s lawyer. He added, “It is pertinent to clarify that our client has made no claims whatsoever for alimony or maintenance, as her sole intention was to bring a dignified and peaceful closure to the marriage. The reasons for the breakdown of the relationship were placed before the Hon’ble Court in the petition. Our client now wishes to move forward with her life and professional commitments.”
Despite the bitterness in their marriage, the two parties did not make any demands or claims against each other.
Motwani tied the knot with Khaturiya in a traditional Hindu ceremony on December 4, 2022. The wedding was held at Jaipur’s Mandota Fort.
