New Delhi: Human Mobile Devices (HMD) has announced a new partnership with Flipkart to bring its 2026 range of smartphones to buyers in India. Under this collaboration, HMD’s first smartphone launch in the country this year will take place on Flipkart, which will act as a major online sales partner along with other online platforms and retail stores.
The partnership is aimed at expanding HMD’s reach in the Indian market. The company says it wants to make its upcoming smartphones easier to access for buyers not only in large cities but also in smaller towns. With Flipkart’s logistics network and understanding of Indian customers, HMD plans to distribute its new devices across different regions of the country.
Focus on mid-range smartphones
The company is planning to launch several smartphones in India in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 price segment. These smartphones are targeted to those buyers who want reliable and affordable devices with useful features. According to HMD, the upcoming models will also include AI-related features. However, the specific details about the features or hardware information is not shared yet.
Ravi Kunwar, CEO and VP, HMD India and APAC, commented on the collaboration: “We are excited to collaborate with Flipkart as one of our key e-commerce partners as we gear up to launch the first HMD smartphone of 2026 in India. Flipkart’s extensive reach and strong consumer connect will play an important role in bringing our latest innovation to customers across the country.”
Launch expected in the coming months
In the upcoming months, the first smartphone under this HMD-Flipkart partnership is expected to be unveiled. After the initial launch, the company plans to roll out several more devices in phases over the following two to four months.
HMD said more information about the phones, including specifications, prices, availability and special consumer offers, will be announced closer to the launch date. The partnership marks another step in HMD’s efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive smartphone market.
