Why is there LPG crisis?
The supply chain has been badly affected due to the closure of the Hormuz waterway due to the Iran war. India imports a major part of its requirement, which is currently on hold. Giving priority to household kitchens, the government has imposed strict restrictions on the supply of commercial gas cylinders. The effect of this was that from Delhi to states like UP, MP and Rajasthan, confectioners and restaurant owners have now started accumulating coal stocks. Due to increase in demand, today on March 11, a rise of 15% to 20% is being seen in the prices of coal in many cities.

Indore (MP)- Rs 1,300-1,650 per quintal
Ahmedabad (Gujarat)- Rs 1,250-1,600 per quintal
Ludhiana (Punjab)- Rs 1,500-1,900 per quintal
