Dr. RP Parashar in the Ayurveda Department of Delhi Government explains that in Ayurveda, Vata Dosha is considered to be the cause of knee pain. Due to this, there are problems ranging from pain to swelling in the body and joints. Due to which later the knees start getting damaged. Dr. Parashar says that if the cartilage of the knees has worn out, it cannot be reduced, but further damage can be reduced with the help of Ayurveda. This problem can be relieved to a great extent through proper eating habits and some special therapy.
Panchakarma therapy is very effective
Dr. Parashar says that Panchakarma therapy is considered very effective for knee patients. Special types of massages and treatments are done in this. With their help, pain and swelling of knees is reduced. In this the patient is given Janu Basti. In this, special medicated oil is applied on the knees. Apart from this, steam therapy can also help in reducing pain and stiffness. However, if the knee cartilage is completely damaged and the pain is very severe, then in many cases surgery may be necessary.
