The Indian Army has foiled a major infiltration attempt near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Army soldiers immediately took action after seeing suspicious activity and an encounter with the terrorists began. During this time a terrorist was killed. Security agencies suspect that another terrorist may be hiding in the area, due to which a large-scale search operation is being conducted in the surrounding forests and border areas. Army, police and other security agencies are jointly conducting search operations in the area. As a precautionary measure, security has also been tightened on Rajouri-Jammu Highway and vehicles are being checked at many places so that any suspicious activity can be stopped immediately.
