Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is going to start eco tourism van service in the state. In the first phase it will be started in Lucknow, Mathura and Varanasi. AR-VR technology will provide virtual experience to tourists and ‘One District, One Cuisine’ scheme will promote local cuisine.
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is soon going to launch a new and unique initiative to promote tourism in the state. Under this, eco tourism van service will be started for major tourist destinations of the state. This project will be implemented in a phased manner. In the first phase, this service will be started in Mathura, Varanasi and Lucknow. Based on the feedback received from these cities, it will later be extended to other districts of the state also. This eco tourism van service of UPSTDC will take forward Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s concept of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. This will provide a new experience to the tourists and will also prove to be an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint.
Virtual tour experience will be available in eco tourism van
UPSTDC aims to promote both tourism and environment conservation through this initiative. Eco Tourism Van will not only provide travel facilities to the tourists but will also provide them a different kind of tourism experience. Modern technology will be used in these vans. Facilities like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) will be made available for tourists. Through these technologies, tourists will be able to have a virtual experience of historical sites, cultural heritage and natural beauty during their journey. Apart from this, GPS tracking system will also be installed in the van, so that safe and convenient travel of the passengers can be ensured. The facility of digital payment and online booking will also be available for ticket booking.
Local dishes will be linked to ‘One District, One Cuisine’ scheme
UPSTDC will also link this eco tourism van service with the Chief Minister’s ambitious ‘One District, One Cuisine’ scheme. Through this, tourists will get a chance to taste the local and traditional dishes of different regions. This initiative will also promote restaurants and chefs who prepare traditional dishes. This will promote local food and culture.
Rural tourism will also get a boost
The eco tourism van will take tourists to major tourist destinations in different districts in an eco-friendly manner. Along with this, rural and less famous tourist places along the way will also benefit from this initiative. This will promote tourism activities in small and rural areas and will also create new employment and income opportunities for the local people.

This new initiative of UPSTDC will not only promote eco-friendly tourism, but will also strengthen the local economy.
