Schemes worth Rs 33,240 crore were approved in the Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. This includes Startup Policy, Rural Development, Women and Child Development, Tribal Schemes, ODOP Project and Young Interns for Good Governance Programme.

Bhopal. On Tuesday, an important meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. In this meeting, approval of about Rs 33,240 crore was given to continue many welfare schemes of the state government and projects of various departments for the next five years. Along with this, many new schemes and creation of posts were also approved.

Chief Minister’s Young Interns for Good Governance Program approved

The Council of Ministers also approved the “Chief Minister Young Interns for Good Governance Programme”. About Rs 190 crore has been approved to implement this scheme for the next 3 years. The Public Service Management Department has been given the authority to decide the necessary procedures, make rules and issue guidelines for the implementation of this scheme.

Decision to continue exemption from professional tax to disabled people

The Council of Ministers has approved to continue the professional tax exemption given to disabled people under the Madhya Pradesh Professional Tax Act 1995 till March 31, 2030. With this, disabled people will continue to get financial relief.

7 districts will get benefits under “One District-One Product” scheme

The state government has sanctioned Rs 37.50 crore over the next five years for conservation, development and marketing of traditional and distinctive products in selected 7 districts under the One District-One Product (ODOP) project. The major products included in this scheme are as follows-

  • Direct: Carpets and rugs
  • Datia: Jaggery
  • Ashoknagar: Chanderi and handloom textiles
  • Bhopal: Zari-Zardozi and Jute Products
  • Edge: Bagh Print
  • Sehore: Wooden Toys
  • Ujjain: Batik Print

Through this project, local artisans, craftsmen and weavers will be provided facilities like training, digitization, branding, marketing and market availability. This will promote local entrepreneurship and strengthen the rural economy.

Creation of 7 posts for Behavioral Court in Chitrangi, Singrauli

The Council of Ministers has approved creation of a new post of Junior Civil Judge for the establishment of Civil Court in Chitrangi (District Singrauli). Along with this, 6 posts of class III and IV will also be created for the official work of the court. In this way, approval has been given for creation of a total of 7 new posts.

Decision to open new ESIC dispensaries in Maihar, Kaimor and Nimrani

The Cabinet has approved the opening of 3 new dispensaries in Maihar (District Maihar), Kaimor (District Katni), Nimrani (District Khargone) and creation of 51 posts of doctors and paramedical staff under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). These dispensaries will provide better health facilities to 15,686 registered workers and about 62,744 of their dependents.

Decision to give share capital to power distribution companies under RDSS scheme

The Council of Ministers has taken an important decision to strengthen the distribution infrastructure and reduce power losses under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Under this, the amount of SGST payable on central share will be given to the distribution companies as share capital instead of grant. Under this scheme, till November 2024, an amount of Rs 887 crore 91 lakh has been approved by the state government to be given as share capital to the distribution companies.

Approval of Rs 63 crore for continuation of public funded schemes

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 63 crore 76 lakh to continue the ongoing public funded programs and projects under the Finance Department from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031.

6090 crore for rural development and drinking water scheme in mineral areas.

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 6090 crore 12 lakh to continue the Mineral Surcharge Reserve Fund Scheme from the year 2026-27 to 2030-31. This amount will be used for these works-

  • Infrastructure development in rural and backward areas
  • drinking water supply
  • road development
  • Expansion of infrastructure in mineral areas

Rs 7,127 crore for Panchayat and rural development schemes

Approval of Rs 7,127 crore 38 lakh has been given to continue various schemes of Panchayat and Rural Development Department till 31 March 2031. Under this-

  • Rs 16 crore 78 lakh for maintenance of departmental assets
  • Rs 12 crore 50 lakh for the operation of Mahatma Gandhi State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Institute, Jabalpur.
  • Also, under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana, Rs 7098 crore has been approved to provide cooked food to the students of classes 1 to 8.

Rs 2064 crore for 10 schemes of Planning, Economic and Statistics Department

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 2,064 crore 62 lakh to continue 10 major schemes of the Directorate of Planning, Economics and Statistics till 31 March 2031. These schemes include State Policy Commission, monitoring of schemes, innovation, MP and MLA Voluntary Grant Fund, Bundelkhand, Mahakaushal and Vindhya Development Authority and other development programs.

Rs 1645 crore for development and scholarship of tribal areas

Approval of Rs 1,645 crore has been given to continue the schemes of the Tribal Affairs Department from the year 2026-27 to 2030-31. This includes-

  • Rs 610 crore 51 lakh for post matric scholarship
  • Rs 86 crore for operation of Scheduled Tribe Research Institute
  • Rs 948 crore 23 lakh for roads, irrigation, education, drinking water and self-employment facilities in tribal areas.

Rs 3,773 crore for women and child development schemes

Rs 3,773 crore has been approved to continue various schemes of the Women and Child Development Department from the year 2026-27 to 2030-31. In this, funds will be given to conduct these activities.

Rs 11,361 crore for startup policy and investment promotion

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 11,361 crore for continuing the schemes of the MSME Department. Under this, Rs 10,041 crore has been sanctioned for these works-

  • Industry Development Grant
  • quality certification assistance
  • energy audit assistance
  • export promotion
  • Revival of sick industries
  • Sector Special Package

Also, under Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy 2022, Rs 589 crore has been sanctioned to startups for investment, loan, patent, lease rent and participation in events and Rs 742 crore has been approved for the development of Industries Directorate and District Industries Centres.
