‘Shame on you Suryakumar Yadav’: Indian skipper slammed for shaking hands with PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi

New Delhi: Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been slammed by social media users for shaking hands with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohasin Naqvi ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. The excitement and wait for the continental tournament was marred by a political controversy when the Indian skipper shook hands with Naqvi, who also happens to be the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief.

During the pre-tournament press conference in Dubai on Tuesday, the entire Asia Cup focus shifted to the fierce socio-political rivalry between India and Pakistan when Suryakumar was seen being cordial with the PCB chief couple of times. This irked the fans and some social media users who took to their respective handles to slam the skipper calling the act ‘shameful’.

Pictures of hand shake viral on social media

The videos and pictures of the duo greeting each other and shaking hands went viral on social media leaving the fans furious. While some wrote shame on suryakumar yadav, shame on BCCI, others reminded social media about the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocent people were killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.

Meanwhile, India begin their campaign in the tournament on September 10 against hosts UAE while Pakistan will face Oman in their opening game on September 12. The Asian arch-rivals come face-to-face against each other on September 14 in Dubai.
