4 juveniles held for assaulting Manipuri woman near Saket District Court

New Delhi: A group of men allegedly assaulted a Manipuri young woman near the Saket District Court complex on Sunday, March 8. The woman was with her friend and was on an evening walk in a park in the Saket area when the group came close to them and made lewd comments at them.

The confrontation escalated after the woman objected to the comments, leading to a heated exchange between the woman and the group. Police confirmed that the accused allegedly attacked the woman during an altercation.

The woman was left injured, as according to the police, one of the accused hit her with a belt on her head. Later on, she was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment.

Officials rushed to the spot after receiving the information and contacted the victim. Police have arrested four juveniles in connection with the assault.

The belt used during the assault was also recovered as the police checked the CCTV footage and used local information to arrest the accused.

The victim is now stable, as she suffered minor injuries. Police are in regular touch with the woman while investigating the circumstances that led to the altercation between the group and her.

“Strict action will be taken against the culprits,” police said. The investigation is underway as the case has been registered against the accused.
