RajKundra –Raj Kundra has once again maintained that he is innocent in the ongoing pornography-related case, saying the prolonged legal proceedings have deeply affected both his personal and professional life. Speaking about the controversy, the actor and businessman said the allegations led to the closure of several business ventures and disrupted the livelihoods of thousands of employees. He also appealed to investigating authorities to conclude the matter fairly, stating that he should either face punishment if proven guilty or receive a clean chit if no wrongdoing is established.
Businesses Closed Following Legal Controversy
Kundra explained that the legal case forced him and his wife, actor Shilpa Shetty, to make difficult business decisions. According to him, they shut down multiple ventures during what he described as one of the most challenging phases of their lives. These businesses included investments in the Rajasthan Royals franchise, mixed martial arts initiatives, a home shopping platform, and Viaan Industries, a technology company named after their son.
He said these enterprises supported nearly 4,000 employees and their families. Kundra expressed disappointment that years of entrepreneurial efforts came to an abrupt halt because of the allegations, adding that the closures had a significant economic and emotional impact.
Raj Kundra Maintains Innocence
While discussing the case, Kundra stated that he was initially called by authorities to provide a statement but was later taken into custody. He insisted that he had not committed the offences alleged against him and said he has consistently maintained the same position since the beginning of the investigation.
He further remarked that he is willing to accept any legal consequences if a court finds him guilty. At the same time, he urged investigators to clear his name if there is no evidence proving his involvement. Kundra noted that he has been contesting the case for nearly five years and remains confident that he has done nothing unlawful.
Arthur Road Jail Experience Left a Lasting Impact
Recalling the 63 days he spent in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail, Kundra described the period as the most difficult chapter of his life. He said the uncertainty during his imprisonment made every day extremely challenging, with moments when he was unsure about what the next morning would bring.
Despite those hardships, Kundra said the experience changed his perspective on life. According to him, it helped him understand who genuinely stood by him during the crisis and contributed to his personal growth. He added that although he would never wish to relive those days, the experience reshaped his outlook and strengthened his resilience.
Background of the Case
Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 in connection with allegations involving the creation and distribution of pornographic content through mobile applications. After spending nearly two months in custody, he was granted bail.
In 2022, Kundra approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), asserting that he had been falsely implicated in the case. He alleged that his arrest resulted from a personal vendetta involving a businessman working in collusion with certain police officials. He also requested the CBI to conduct an independent investigation, claiming that senior officers of the Mumbai Crime Branch had framed him.
The legal proceedings remain ongoing, and Kundra has continued to publicly deny all allegations against him while seeking a final resolution through the judicial process.
