Lucknow. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a video message on Sunday wishing all the women and daughters of the state. He said that in Indian culture, woman is not only considered the pivot of the family, but she is seen as the basic inspiration of creation, power and values. It is said in our scriptures – ‘Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata’ i.e. where women are respected, there the gods reside. CM Yogi said that this is not just a motto, but a symbol of India’s vision of life which has kept the society sensitive, balanced and cultured.
Women empowerment gives new direction to family, society and nation.
The Chief Minister said that in today’s era, the meaning of women’s respect is not limited to social prestige only. It is also linked to their education, security, health and self-reliance. He said that when a woman is empowered, she not only changes her life but also strengthens the entire family. This gives a new direction to the society and gives impetus to the development of the nation. CM Yogi said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Central Government has made women empowerment an important axis of national development.
He said that schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Swamtva Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao and Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana have given new strength of respect and self-reliance to crores of women of the country.
Double engine government’s priority: women’s safety, respect and self-reliance
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the double engine government of Uttar Pradesh has included women’s safety, respect and self-reliance among its top priorities. He told that with the formation of the government in the year 2017, Anti Romeo Squad was formed for the safety of daughters.
Today, more than 44 thousand women policemen in Uttar Pradesh Police are actively contributing to the security system. Along with this, a comprehensive environment of women’s respect, safety and awareness has been created in the state through the Mission Shakti campaign.
Women are creating economic identity by joining self-help groups
CM Yogi said that real empowerment of women is possible only when they become financially self-reliant. He said that today in Uttar Pradesh, about one crore women are creating new opportunities for livelihood and entrepreneurship by joining self-help groups.
Women in rural areas are not only increasing their family income but also strengthening the local economy through agriculture, food processing, handicrafts and small-scale enterprises. Through digital platforms, their products are now reaching the markets not only in the country but across the world.
New schemes to promote women entrepreneurship
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously providing new opportunities for the advancement of women. He said that efforts are being made to support women at every stage of life through Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme, Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme and Women Entrepreneur Product Marketing Scheme.
Daughters of UP are making their mark in every field
The Chief Minister said that today the daughters of Uttar Pradesh are hoisting the flag of their talent in every field. Giving the example of Lucknow’s daughter Ritu Karidhal, he said that she has brought glory to the country by playing an important role in India’s space missions like Mars Orbiter Mission and Chandrayaan. This is proof that if given opportunity and determination, the daughters of Uttar Pradesh can reach the heights of space.
Pledge for women’s respect and safety on Women’s Day
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in his message that we all should together create an environment where every daughter feels safe and every woman can live a life with dignity. She said that it is important for every woman to have equal opportunities to realize her dreams.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, he appealed to everyone to take a pledge that they will promote women’s respect, ensure women’s safety and make women’s self-reliance an important part of life. CM Yogi said that we all should together contribute in building such Uttar Pradesh, where the dreams of every woman can get a new flight.
