Navagraha Shani Temple
We are talking about the Navagraha Shani temple of Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. This temple is on the banks of Triveni Ghat of Shipra river in Ujjain. Navagraha Shani Temple is said to be about 2000 years old. According to religious beliefs, this temple was built by the just king Vikramaditya. This temple is also considered special because along with Shani Dev, all the nine planets are present here.
The view here on the day of Amavasya falling on Saturday is a sight to behold. On this day, thousands of devotees offer prayers here to pacify the planets in their horoscope. Usually, the idol of Shani Dev present in his temples is black in colour, but in this temple of Ujjain, the color of his idol is saffron. At first sight this statue appears to be that of Hanumanji. Shani Dev has been established in the form of Pindi in the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple. On which oil keeps dripping 24 hours.

This calm form of Saturn is considered to be a form of Mahadev. Not only this, it is said that this is the only temple in the world, where Shani Dev is worshiped in the form of ‘Baba’. Here Shani is worshiped to get relief from Sadesati and Dhaiya. It is an astrological belief that worshiping here eliminates the effect of Shani Dev’s evil eye and brings happiness and prosperity in life.
