Will US, Israel deploy forces in Iran to secure uranium stockpile? What report says

Washington: Amid escalations of conflict in the Middle East, the United States and Israel are reportedly considering the deployment of forces in Iran. The step is being considered to secure a stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU).

As per Axios, the move suggests the focus remains on Iran’s nuclear assets. Issuing a warning US War Secretary Pete Hegseth threatened lethal consequences for any attacks on American citizens. “If you kill Americans, if you threaten Americans anywhere on earth, we will hunt you down without apology and without hesitation, and we will kill you,” the secretary wrote on X.

US releases small video

A short video was released along with this message, showing the military’s current reach. The video showed several “unclassified” images of vehicles and structures being bombed by the US in the ongoing conflict.

Earlier on Sunday, Iran increased its assault on Lebanon. Among its targets were commanders of the Lebanese branch of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Issuing a statement, the Israeli military said it would “not allow Iranian terrorist elements to establish themselves in Lebanese territory.” The latest strikes were followed by an Israeli attack on an oil storage facility in Tehran last Saturday.

According to officials in Kuwait, two border guards were killed after missiles and drones hit the country. The country said that guards were killed “while performing their national duty.” They did not share any other details.

At least 8 killed in Lebanon

The Lebanese Health Ministry said that at least eight people lost their lives in Israel’s airstrike. An Israeli airstrike hit a hotel in Beirut in which four people were killed 10 others were injured. At least 47 others were killed on Saturday in Israeli strikes.
