It is alleged that the protocol was not completely followed by the state government. On March 7, President Murmu reached Bidhannagar near Siliguri to address a meeting of the tribal community. During this time, neither Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present to welcome him nor any minister of the state government was seen in the program. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reacted to this entire matter. He said that the behavior of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during the visit of President Draupadi Murmu to West Bengal is highly condemnable. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in a democracy the post of President is the highest and this post is above all political differences. When the President is on a state visit to a state, it is the responsibility of the government and the Chief Minister to fully follow the protocol and maintain respect for the dignity of the office of the President.

Insulting the post of President is not good for the country’s image.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that it is not appropriate for the Chief Minister of any state to create such a situation which insults the office of the President of India in front of the world or hurts his dignity. He strongly condemned the incident and said that it is unfortunate to make the President’s state visit a part of light politics and drag it into local or party politics.
