Teacher candidates in Patna protested against the cuts of posts in TRE-4. They are demanding 1.20 lakh posts and objecting to the Domicile Rules. The recruitment exam will be held in December 2025.
Patna: On Tuesday, teacher candidates performed a big demonstration in Patna, the capital of Bihar. The anger of the candidates has erupted over the fourth phase of teacher recruitment (TRE-4). They are demanding from the government that 1.20 lakh posts should be recruited in teacher recruitment, but the government has cut seats, due to which there is a lot of resentment among the candidates. Candidates believe that now the youth of Bihar have been cheated due to the implementation of the Domicile Rules.
Attempt to encircle CM residence
The protest started from Patna College at 11 am. Thousands of candidates moved towards the Chief Minister’s residence via Khaitan Market, Bakarganj, Gandhi Maidan, JP Golambar and Dak Bungalow intersection and raised loud slogans on their demands. Due to the packed crowd of students on the road, there was a jam situation in many areas. A large number of police hair is deployed to control the crowd, despite the candidates are continuously moving forward.
Student leader Dilip alleged that the government promised to recruit 50 thousand, then 80 thousand and later 1.20 lakh posts, but after the Domicile Rules, the posts were reduced to 27,910. Candidates are particularly demanding that only one result rule is applicable for a candidate so that transparency in the recruitment process is maintained and the possibility of disturbances can be eliminated.
More than 26 thousand posts will be recruited
Regarding the recruitment of the fourth phase teacher recruitment, Education Minister Sunil Kumar said that more than 26 thousand posts will be recruited in the fourth phase. He informed that the recruitment exam will be held between 16 to 19 December 2025 and the result will be released by the last week of January 2026. The minister assured that the entire recruitment process will be completed in a transparent and time -bound manner.
