Why celebrate Rangpanchami?
There are many popular beliefs behind why Rang Panchami is celebrated. According to him, in ancient times there was a mighty demon named Hiranyakashipu. He considered himself superior to God and considered Lord Vishnu as his enemy. Hiranyakashipu had a son named Prahlad.
Prahlad was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. When Hiranyakashipu came to know about this, he stopped his son from doing so but still he did not agree. Then Hiranyakashipu decided to kill his son and tried to kill him in various ways, but he could not succeed.
Hiranyakashipu also had a sister named Holika. Holika had the boon of not burning in fire. Hiranyakashipu made Prahlad sit in the fire along with his sister to kill him but Holika died and Prahlad survived. Seeing this everyone became very happy.
When the sages and devotees of God saw this miracle, they celebrated the victory of righteousness over unrighteousness by applying colours. Since then the festival of Rangpanchami is being celebrated. With changing times, this festival has become limited to a few places, among which Rangpanchami of Malwa is the most popular.

Remedies for Rang Panchami
1. Apply yellow color to Lord Krishna on Rang Panchami. This will keep married life happy.
2. Worship Hanumanji on Rang Panchami and recite Hanuman Chalisa 5 times.
3. On Rang Panchami, mix honey in water and anoint Shivalinga. This will be beneficial for health.
