At around 6:00 pm on Saturday evening, security agencies noticed a suspicious movement on 17th Street Northwest in Washington. At 6:10 pm, a young man started moving towards the White House complex in a strange manner. Just two hours ago, President Trump had posted on ‘Truth Social’ that he was working on the Iran peace agreement in the Oval Office. No one had any idea that the very next moment the sound of bullets would be heard here.

The gun came out of the bag and 30 bullets echoed.
The suspect suddenly came very close to the gate. He took out a handgun from his bag and started firing indiscriminately, aiming at the officers present at the checkpoint. According to NBC News correspondent Julie Tsirkin, who was present at the scene, 20 to 30 rounds of bullets were fired within moments. The entire area was shaken by the loud sounds of firing and the journalists present in the premises were immediately asked to take shelter inside the press briefing room.

Secret Service action and the end of ‘Nasser Best’
Sensing the danger, US Secret Service agents responded in the blink of an eye. Even before the security cordon could be breached, the agents shot the attacker with bullets. The attacker, identified as Nasir Best, 21, of Maryland, died on the way to the hospital. Unfortunately in this crossfiring, a pedestrian passing on the road was also shot, who later died.
