Couplet: Tension is continuously increasing in the Gulf countries. Continuing its attacks, Iran has now targeted Bahrain. Iran today attacked buildings in different areas of the Sultanate of Bahrain where Qatari Emiri naval personnel lived. Qatar has strongly condemned this attack. Qatar has called it an open attack and a violation of the sovereignty of the Sultanate of Bahrain. At the same time, it has been termed as a direct threat to the security and stability of Bahrain as well as the peace of the entire region.

Today Qatar’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on this matter. The statement said that Qatar will provide all necessary assistance to its ‘brother country’ Bahrain to face this attack. The statement said that these sailors were present there to participate in the Unified Maritime Operations Center associated with the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “Targeting the bases of forces operating under the Joint Gulf Cooperation is a dangerous step. It affects the security of GCC countries and undermines the principles of good neighborly relations and respect for the sovereignty of countries.”

The ministry has also clarified that all the Qatari Emiri Navy personnel present in the buildings that were attacked are safe and no one has been injured. The Qatari Embassy in Bahrain is closely monitoring the situation with the Bahraini authorities and is taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the soldiers.

On this occasion, the Ministry praised the cooperation and coordination of Bahraini authorities in dealing with this incident and ensuring the safety of people present at the targeted areas. Qatar reiterated in its statement that it condemns all actions that threaten the security of countries in the region and their properties.

The attack was carried out on residential buildings and a hotel in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. According to reports, 1 hotel and 2 residential buildings were targeted. The attack comes just a day after an Iranian missile attack caused a fire at a major government oil refinery in Bahrain. At least 13 people, including seven civilians, have been killed in the Gulf since Iran began attacks on Saturday.
