Law enforcement records confirm that Spears was arrested around 9:30 pm on Wednesday in Ventura County, California. Officials booked the 44-year-old singer early Thursday morning before releasing her a few hours later.
Authorities have not yet clarified the exact charges linked to the arrest. Requests for comment were reportedly sent to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol and Spears’s representatives. However, no official statements had been issued at the time of reporting.
The initial court hearing for the case has been scheduled for May 4.
