India-England made many records

Regardless of the result of the match, the batsmen of India and England together made tremendous records in this match. Records on some of them tell you-

  1. With India’s 253 runs and England’s 246 runs, a total of 499 runs were scored in this match. This is the record of most runs in a match in the T20 World Cup. It is at second place in the history of T20 International. At number one is the South Africa-West Indies match, in which 519 runs were scored.
  2. If so many runs were scored then a lot of sixes were bound to be hit and this is exactly what happened. Team India hit 19 sixes, while England’s batsmen hit 15 sixes. In this way, a record was created for the maximum number of 34 sixes hit in a T20 World Cup match.
  3. Not only sixes, but the record of most boundaries in a World Cup match was also made in this match. The batsmen of India and England scored a total of 73 boundaries. Earlier this record was of 61 boundaries, which was made in the England-South Africa match in 2016 at Wankhede itself.
  4. The Indian team made it to the second consecutive final. Earlier, Team India had played the final of T20 World Cup 2024 and won. In this way, India is the third country to do so after Pakistan (2007, 2009) and Sri Lanka (2012, 2014).
  5. At the same time, the 105 runs scored by England batsman Jacob Batchelor is also the highest score made in a knockout match in the history of the tournament. He broke the record made just 24 hours earlier by Finn Allen, who had scored 100 runs.
