This is not just an issue of their food. Rather, it is the result of metabolic and hormonal changes taking place inside the body. Actually, after the age of 30, muscle mass gradually starts decreasing in men and metabolism becomes slow. The result is that extra calories start getting stored around the stomach in the form of visceral fat. This is called dead belly or central obesity. Which is not just a cosmetic issue but also a major risk factor for diabetes and heart disease.
Why do men’s belly bulge after 30?
Another major reason for belly fat is insulin resistance, if after the age of 30 there is less physical activity, less refined carbs like bread, rice and protein, as well as eating at wrong times, then insulin response becomes weak. Due to this, sugar starts getting stored directly in the stomach area in the form of fat.
