Why Ram Charan attended the reception barefoot
Ram Charan is presently undertaking the Ayyappa Deeksha, a sacred ritual followed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa before making the pilgrimage to the Sabarimala Temple. The ritual is widely practised across South India and requires devotees to follow a disciplined lifestyle for several weeks.
Typically lasting between 41 and 48 days, the deeksha is considered a period of spiritual preparation and self-control. During this time, devotees wear simple black, blue or saffron clothes and often walk barefoot as a mark of humility and devotion.

Those observing the vow also maintain a strict vegetarian diet, avoid alcohol and indulgences, and follow a routine centred on prayer and meditation. The practice further requires celibacy and discourages grooming habits such as shaving or cutting hair during the observance period.
Ram Charan’s barefoot arrival at the reception was therefore entirely in keeping with the guidelines of the ritual. Even while attending one of the most talked-about industry events of the week, the actor chose to strictly follow the spiritual discipline.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the star has appeared in public while observing the vow. Ram Charan was previously spotted attending international engagements, including promotional appearances around the 2023 Oscars, in similar attire while following the deeksha.
Vijay-Rashmika’s Hyderabad reception
The reception itself turned into a glamorous gathering of film personalities who arrived to bless the newlyweds. Among those spotted were Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Venkatesh Daggubati, Nani, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya, Ravi Teja and Sreeleela.
Bollywood stars, including Kriti Sanon and Mrunal Thakur, were also seen at the event, making the evening one of the most talked-about celebrity gatherings of the season.
