A 22-year-old nephew killed his 55-year-old maternal uncle over a rent dispute in Bengaluru. He tried to call it an accident, but the police revealed the truth through postmortem and arrested the accused.
Bengaluru: A nephew killed his own maternal uncle in a dispute over house rent. After this he fabricated a false story and tried to call it an accident and started preparing for the last rites. But Viveknagar police station has arrested the accused, who works in a private company. The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Inayat Pasha, a resident of Austin Town. The police have arrested 22-year-old Masroor Ahmed, son of the deceased’s sister, on charges of murder.

Four days ago, there was a fight between Pasha and Masroor over the house rent, which escalated significantly. Enraged, Masroor attacked Pasha brutally, resulting in his death. After this he said that Pasha fell and died. But a local resident called Viveknagar police and informed about this incident. Immediately Inspector Veeresh’s team reached the spot and stopped the body from being cremated and sent it for postmortem. The postmortem report revealed the truth behind the death.
Masroor’s family owns a two-story building in Austin Town. His maternal uncle Inayat Pasha was living in the house on the lower part of it for the last 11 years. Initially he had taken the house on lease for Rs 3 lakh. Even after the lease period was over, he was living in the same house without paying rent.
Pasha was a mechanic by profession and lived separately from his wife. Recently there was a rift between relatives regarding house rent. Masroor was repeatedly asking Pasha to vacate the house, but he was not listening. There were often fights on this issue. Similarly, on March 1 at around 4:30 pm, Masroor went to Pasha’s house and asked him to vacate the house. He also abused. Pasha was drunk at that time and he also retaliated. Within no time the matter escalated and the fight reached a scuffle.
Masroor had built his body by going to the gym.
Masroor used to go to the gym and his body was very strong. He threw Pasha down and attacked him by crushing him badly with his feet. Pasha died in this attack. After this, Masroor lied to the relatives that Pasha had accidentally fallen and died and started preparing for the last rites. Then a local resident called Inspector Veeresh and informed him about the fight.
Hesitation in filing complaint
When the police reached the spot, the relatives of the deceased denied that there was a fight. They did not even want to file any complaint regarding this. Finally the police sent the body for postmortem. In the postmortem report, doctors confirmed that Pasha died due to attack. Based on this information, the police registered a case of murder and without wasting time arrested the accused. Police said Masroor worked in a private company near HSR Layout. Out of anger he took such a step and now he is in jail.
