The increasing tension between Iran and Israel affected air services. Many flights were canceled due to security reasons and technical reasons. The return of Indian passengers present in Jeddah kept getting postponed. A large number of these were elderly people and women, who had gone to perform Umrah. The worry of their families was increasing every day due to the news of them being stranded abroad.
Many passengers returning to the airport said that they had almost given up hope of returning home. A passenger said, “We waited every day for news about the flight. We had no idea when the situation would improve. It is only because of the efforts of the government that we are here today.” Family members said that this is not just a return, but a sigh of relief. Many families thanked the Indian Embassy, Central Government and State Government.
