Why Did UAE Shut Airspace?
After the United States and Israel carried out attacks on Iran on February 28, Iran launched missile and drone strikes targeting US military sites and allied countries in the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
This led to major travel disruptions, with parts of the UAE’s and other Gulf states’ airspace temporarily closed or restricted, forcing airlines to cancel or delay many flights as the situation unfolded.
